SANDPOINT STRIKERS F.C. 2018 Pilot Program - May/June New structure/format for HS age teams Presented by Adam Tajan

What? Let’s capitalize on the energy and excitement that surrounds the HS season. Let’s make our club season a prequel of the up and coming fall HS season. Let’s make the club season work hand-in-hand with the HS program to help win a HS state championship! Strikers wants to help all of our players achieve their personal goals as they relate to soccer. To facilitate this we recognize that Strikers can play an even more productive role in helping our players to pursue their passions and ambitions on and off the pitch.

So What? As the nature of club soccer changes, Strikers needs to take a fresh look at our programs and make adjustments to fit the new landscape of competitive soccer. The club’s goal is to facilitate the development of our players by offering the best program to fit the varying needs of our players. To that end, Strikers has taken a new approach to how best to structure the spring season for our older aged players.

Now What? Weather will be good and field space will be plentiful This is always a problem in the spring. Problem solved! A great way to prepare for the fall HS season This format provides structure and purpose. Good Energy and Excitement Preparing for your HS season, several home games under the lights at Memorial., competitive tournaments… the kids should be energized and excited! Season will be 8 weeks Early May through Late June. *See details on the next slide Our best and most experienced coaches will coach the teams Coaches for this age group are difficult to find. With this structure, HS coaches can actually coach the team without violating any IDHSAA rules. Players can still play other sports or for other clubs if they desire Our season will be structured to allow our players to pursue their goals. Strikers will make every effort to be flexible and accommodate scheduling conflicts.

2018 Calendar May 7-18: Two Week Fitness Combine… training will be held 3x week for minutes. Focus will be technical work and fitness. May 21: Practice will be held 3x week for the remainder of the season. HS coaches are now clear from IDHSAA rules. Team will attend three tournaments. Possible Tournaments include...
