Staff and Personnel Different staff are involved in the planning and production of content for a social media campaign. In some ways, this is great, as it’s potential job roles for you in the future. However, the negative is that to be successful – there needs to be various decisions made, plans created and heavy consistent work load which is far to big for just one person (so, bad luck trying to cut costs – a budget is needed!!). Think about one of the social media campaigns you’ve already created with Miss Samuels. Whether it’s your band/tv show from week 2 or your Niche social media audience product from last week…….(Andy – that amazing App needs your thoughts again, Anna your motiv8channel may need a bit of mojo and Hypebeast – those cool trainers need your thought again!). As you see the different job roles I would like you to put points next to them on a PowerPoint/ word doc which maps out the job roles for YOUR social media plan. I would like you to map out your burger with this to ensure you reach every point of the campaign for success AND ensure all staff have a purpose. An example of this is on the next slide.

Social Media campaign : CatMusick
EXAMPLE Social Media campaign : CatMusick Lsamuels has copyrighted her new invention : an mp3 device which is fitted to cat collars. Research shows that cats, who suffer with travel sickness and new kitten stomach irritation, respond well to classical music and Dubstep tracks. This new technology allows the music vibrations to transfer from collar to cat and cure any condition your feline friend may have. Project Manager: This is the person who will be leading the whole of the CatMusick project and ensuring decisions / marketing content is meeting deadlines. Data Analyst: As soon as CatMusick goes to market this job ensures that any social media reach is recorded and monitored. They can then think through what is needed or what is successful in the CM campaign. Graphic Designer: I want all of my website, social media platforms and headers to match the great logos that are on the CM boxes. This job will ensure that so it looks great for online distribution……..ETC.

Task two Now that you’ve learnt the MAJORITY of this unit, you need to start collecting case studies for us to explore and for you to explore and look into more. Case studies can be : Newspaper/online articles Interesting social media campaigns Interesting updates on social media channels Podcasts/films/apps which are related to globalisation and social media. Today research what has been the new update for some Twitter accounts (September 2017) which has caused controversy. Write up your thoughts on the new addition and how you may think it could effect social media use. Is it a good thing? What’s negative about it? What impact is it having on users already?
