1 Information To support CEAF Notification of proposal to modify the orientation of the , CLAMP, V BAND that is used in XS9693 on 6 cylinder automotive B series product NOV2016

2 Project Scope Change Summary: Background:( Reason for change)
Current orientation of the , CLAMP, V BAND contained within option XS9693, CONNECTION, EXHAUST needs to be changed. 102408, CLAMP, V BAND will be re-orientated 180 degrees, so that the nut is out-board rather than in-board. The change will not impact upon the orientation of the , CONNECTION, EXHAUST. There will be no part number change. The intention is not to release a new option number, unless the re-orientation creates the potential for a foul condition in the customer chassis. Background:( Reason for change) The , CLAMP, V BAND is being re-orientated within option XS9693, CONNECTION, EXHAUST to eradicate potential assembly issues – the proposed re-orientation puts the nut into the outboard position which improves access to the nut. Implementation Strategy and Date: Revise option graphics for XS9693, CONNECTION, EXHAUST and update lineside work instructions. APR 2017

3 Change Summary (Using Graphics)
Currently the , CLAMP, V BAND, called up within option XS9693, CONNECTION, EXHAUST, is orientated such that the nut is on the in-board side. This orientation can cause issues when assembling therefore the intention is to re-orientate the , CLAMP, V BAND by 180 degrees so that the nut is on the out-board side. Current position – nut on in-board side. Proposed position – nut on out-board side.

4 Overlay of current option & proposed option.
How the clamp (item # 1) is currently received. Current position – nut on in-board side. How the clamp (item # 1) will be received in the future. Proposed position – nut on out-board side.

5 Overlay Integration on Engine
In the current position, the nut is quite close to the exhaust manifold to turbo mounting joint and can be a bit difficult to access. In the proposed location the nut is easier to access as is located towards the outside of the engine envelope. Current position – nut on in-board side. Proposed position – nut on out-board side.
