Greed and Pride are signs of split loyalties. “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:10 2 Chronicles 25:5-9 “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18 2 Chronicles 25:17-24

Greed and Pride are signs of split loyalties. We must learn to fight these temptations. Pride Learn the concept of submission. James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5 Elevate others. Philippians 2:3 Lower our own opinion of ourselves. Romans 12:16 Greediness Remember happiness is not equated with money. Eccl. 2:11 Learn the real value of physical and spiritual things. Matt. 6:20 Look at what it has done to others. 1 Timothy 6:10

Greed and Pride are signs of split loyalties. Split loyalties can make us do some dumb things. Outward Obedience is worthless without loyal inward obedience. Amaziah did many good things. 2 Kings 14:13, “And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, yet not like his father David.” Jesus emphasizes that true righteousness comes from the heart. Matthew 5:8; Matthew 22:37; Matthew 15:8
