The core objective of this session is to make the students absolutely familiar with the subject called General Knowledge. The above mentioned objectives are the targeted areas that must be covered in this session to meet the main goal.

Pearson’s Concise GK manual by Edgar Thorpe & Showick Thorpe (latest edition)

8. Sources of preparation-Current General Knowledge
Read a good national daily (The Hindu/ The Times of India /Hindustan Times)
Magazines; Pratiyogita Darpan,Competition Success Review
Watch a news channel preferably NDTV 24X7

Read a good Business Newspaper viz. The Economic Times/Business Standard/The Financial Express
Magazines; Business World
Watch a good Business news channel; CNBC Profit/NDTV Profit/ET Now

10. How to study and retain the information?
Focus on the vague areas of GK and NOT on the known areas of GK
Read the information untill it becomes clear to you
Write the information in your own words
Discuss the learnt data frequently in a quizzical manner
