The Chrysalids Chrysalids: Means the hard shell of a moth or butterfly that has transformed. Setting: Thousands of years in the future, post-apocalypse rural Labrador. Inhabitants have vague recollection of the “old people”, a technologically advanced civilization which they believe was destroyed when God sent Tribulation to punish them for their sins. Point of View: First person from the perspective of the main character, ten year old David Strorm
