Simply brought more people west.
Rail roads cutting through native lands
Land claims and towns start to follow the railroads west that lead to conflict between natives and settlers.
As settlers were able to obtain land, they used these new “machines” in order to cultivate land.
Therefore Natives would have a harder time running settlers off those lands.

6. How did modern technology effect settlers west?
Things like barbed wire created more animosity between “free grazers” and “ranchers”.
Barbed wire allowed ranchers to divide up and “fence off” their lands.
