PREWRITING/PLANNING What is a resolution? A resolution is a promise that you make to yourself! Nobody's perfect! The beginning of a new year seems like a good time to think about changing. That's why people make resolutions in January.

7. Types of Resolutions
Personal Improvement e.g. lose weight, eat less junk food, exercise more, watch less TV, spend less time gaming, get outside more, etc. Family or Friends e.g. be more patient with your little brother or sister, be more helpful to your parents, spend more time with your friends, visit your grandparents more often, etc. School and the Outside World e.g. get to class on time, pay better attention in class, try for better grades, spend more time studying, get more involved in extra-curricular activities, volunteer, etc.
