Cell In your notebook (on the first clean page starting from the front), please answer the following question: In what contexts have you heard the word “cell” used before? (List as many as you can think of.)

Reciprocal Reading Determine stopping points (discussion places) with your partner. Mark them on your paper. Remember to use your text codes and annotate (make notes in the margin) as you read individually. *Do not just put a bunch of check marks! I want NOTES!* Follow the “reciprocal reading” instructions when you reach a stopping point. C: 0 (when reading) 1 (when discussing) H: refer to instructions or ask your partner A: independent and partner work M: 0 (after you’re settled, except to pencil sharpener) P: reading silently, annotating using text codes, discussing at appropriate places

Go back to Tuesday’s word sort. Using a different color (you may use pen!), revise your lists. DO NOT ERASE ANYTHING! Revise the “rule” you used to determine if something is made of cells (if necessary).
