In the beginning of the Bakuba cosmogeny, there existed only darkness and water. All of this vast darkness and never ending sea covered the entire earth like two huge blankets. This dark and wet world was ruled by the great and terrible white giant, Mbombo. He had never seen light. His arms and shoulders were vast and he was pale-skinned and white and pasty for having lived in darkness for so long. Having existed in darkness all his days, for millions of years, the great giant Mbombo, grew even more pale and sick. Being alone in this unbearable solitude only served to add to his great sadness and sickness. He became sicker and sicker and sicker, sadder and sadder. His stomach began to rumble like the thunder. He felt an intense pain in his stomach and could not help but

Vomit. From this troubling bellyache, Mbomba vomited up the sun
Vomit!!! From this troubling bellyache, Mbomba vomited up the sun. Light burst forth for the first time into the universe. Next came the moon and the stars. With one tremendous effort Mbomba vomited up the earth itself. We live in a very sick world you know, so it is no wonder that Mbomba had such a bellyache.

The heat and light from the sun caused Mbomba’s water world to start to evaporate creating the clouds and sky, and after some time the dry land with its mountains hills and valleys started to appear.

This disgusting display of vomit was brought to the great finale when Mbomba spewed forth an even greater amount of vomit that contained the first man and women and an assortment of humans, nine different types of animals including the leopard the eagle and the monkey, trees, the razor, medicine, lightning, the falling stars, an anvil, and some diced carrots that had been the sick giants last meal. Exhausted and tired from having labored so much. Mbomba sat down and admired his handy work.

He watched as each of the creations evolved and learned and grew
He watched as each of the creations evolved and learned and grew. Having created so many beautiful things, Mbomba was finally content. His loneliness and sickness had finally come to an end. He was finally no longer sick and miserably lonely, he was filled with joy. Mbomba spoke some kind words of encouragement and parting to the humans and then departed to the heavens, never to be heard of again. So far as we know, his stomach has never troubled him since.
