After WWI-the Allies tried to redraw Europe based on the distribution of language speakers, especially in Eastern and Southern Europe.

Boundary Types to Understand
Physical Boundaries Mountains Desert Water Cultural Boundaries Religion Geometric Language Superimposed Boundary: imposed by an outside force. Ex: Israel, Yugoslavia, 1880s Africa Subsequent Boundary: created after cultural landscape developed. Ex: Ireland & N. Ireland Antecedent Boundary: created before cultural landscape developed. Ex: Louisiana Purchase Relict Boundary: boundary doesn’t exist, but can still be felt/seen. Ex: Berlin Wall, China Wall

Website: After viewing ALL 22 images, write a response to this statement: What type of feelings do borders evoke in people? Why? Of the images you saw, which border were you most fascinated with? Why?
