There are 4 types of sentences.
declarative sentence interrogative sentence exclamatory sentence imperative sentence

definition: a sentence that makes a statement punctuation: use a period example: We went to the park.

interrogative sentences
definition: a sentence that asks a question punctuation: use a question mark example: What is your name?

exclamatory sentences
definition: a sentence that expresses emotion punctuation: use an exclamation mark example: Wow, that is amazing!

definition: a sentence that gives a command – no subject
imperative sentences definition: a sentence that gives a command – no subject punctuation: use a period or an exclamation mark example: Take out a piece of paper. Stop, don’t take another step!
