Our goals are to develop a fundamental understanding of the: (1) chemical reaction kinetics controlling the carbothermal reduction process and (2) morphological and structural evolution in nanocrystals.

Initial results have yielded new insights into nanocrystal synthesis and stabilities. Further investigation is required to better understand the underlying processes.
