2 Charged Team Timeouts 3 per team per half
“Use ‘em or lose ‘em”; No unused carry to over time May be requested by player or coach ; or head coach designee NOTE: Conference with referee is a charged team timeout until change occurs due to misapplication or misinterpretation of a rule

3 Duration of Timeouts Time outs shall not exceed 1 minute
May be shortened if both teams are ready to play prior to RFP Can be successive Note- Officials time out may follow charged timeout if needed for coach-referee conference

4 When Timeouts are Gone, Requests Denied Unless
Injured player Necessary repair to player equipment Review of misapplication of rule If ruling not altered, assess delay of game penalty

5 Officials Timeouts Measurement First downs Change of possession
Notifying of time remaining Player in need of equipment repair Dry or change ball Unusual heat or humidity TV-Radio timeout Between periods

6 Authorized Conferences

7 Types of Conferences Coach-Referee Sideline in front of team box Authorized team conference- Outside 9 yard marks in front of team box- one or more coaches with one or more players Inside 9 yard marks- 1 coach with no more than 11 players Headset use outside only

8 Mechanics R- Record & communicate time outs remaining; signal 15 to ready U- over Ball & hold until ready for retreat to position LJ & L- top of huddle; go 15 seconds to RFP on R notification; alert for subs, etc; communicate time outs remaining with coach BJ- timing SJ & FJ- between huddle & sideline observing
