Three contractors died with 58 injured, 31 seriously

A heavy duty bus approached a crossroads travelling at approximately 53kph on a graded road at the same time as a HGV tipper approached from the left Simple! What could go wrong ???

Some other issues to consider:
Why do you think the driver chose not to stop? Was he under pressure to reach his destination? Was he aware of the consequences of his activity? Was he competent to drive the bus safely? Do you check all of your passengers are wearing seatbelts? Do these issues add to the risk ? How do you combat that increased risk?

Learnings for you from the incident……..
Ensure everyone in the vehicle always wears seatbelts Always obey traffic laws and STOP at junctions Adhere to Signage on the road Always drive at speeds safe for the conditions Do not be pressured into rushing a journey Have you any more ideas for preventing this incident happening again?
