Good practice from REF 2014 (1)
Significant growth in research income as a result of a strategic intention to do so. Investing in state of the art technologies to address specific infrastructural challenges Ensuring appropriate support to address the unit’s cparticular staff profile Leading and supporting shared research facilities in a consortium with other institutions

Developing new organisational structures to invest in new areas of activity Interdisciplinary research studentships; appointing staff with other disciplinary backgrounds to enable the introduction of interdisciplinary perspectives Detailing the research activity of research students in the unit – grants, conferences, publications.
