Good morning Junior Bucks! This is your third day of school at Deerfield Beach Middle school! Our school theme is Get On Board..Destination Excellence! We are asking you to join us on this journey to achieving a B grade! We ask that you bring humility, trust, hope and love on this train. Today, you will be reminded about the DBMS Way and what it means to have trust and hope. Additionally, you will learn about the Technology Procedures. Being Respectful Accept consequences if you’re not following rules. Stay where adults can see you. Doing Your Best Put equipment away at the one-minute warning. Be in line on time. To print for students Taking Care of Others Include everyone in group work. Work safely and use equipment correctly. .If you see a student that needs help, HELP. Schoolwide Procedures

6 What does it mean to have trust?
Trust is an essential component of meaningful relationships. Trust is safety. Trust is comfort.   Trust is feeling that someone has your back. Trust is an environment where individuals can be their best selves. Building trust is a process. The end goal is to be honest and depend on each other without fear. Schoolwide Procedures

8 What does it mean to have hope?
Hope is the state of mind that believes and desires a positive outcome to situations in your life Hope is the feeling that things will turn out for the best Hope is consistently looking forward to that positive outcome Students, please write three goals for this quarter and return to your teacher. Please include a belief statement. A Belief Statement is one sentence that summarizes what you will achieve. Example: I believe that I can learn and excel academically. Example: I believe that I am an achiever. Example: I believe that I am smart, beautiful and caring. Schoolwide Procedures

9 Technology Procedures
No food or drink near the computers Students are to remain seated while using the computer Laptops may be used only for the purpose intended by the teacher No student leaves the classroom at the end of the period until all laptops have been returned to the cart and accounted for Do not damage the computers. Do not remove keys or labels. If there is a problem with your computer, inform your teacher. Schoolwide Procedures
