1. Sinkhole Insurance

2. Situation
On February 12, 2014, the Skydome had “a sinkhole reportedly opened up in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY at around 5:44AM local time, swallowing eight vintage Corvettes that were on display. The sinkhole is reportedly about 40 feet wide and at least 25 feet deep.” This was very unexpected especially for this specific place, but the National Corvette Museum does have sinkhole insurance.

The Skydome opened up the very next day to the public. They say that the tourists are their number one priority. As of February 20, 2014 the cars will be on display until they are taken to Michigan for repairs.

Not only has the National Corvette Museum experienced the devastation of what sinkholes can do, but also what happened to a California man in his own home. Insurance companies do not currently offer sinkhole insurance openly to its clients.
Should the insurance companies offer this to its clients? Home owners and business owners?
