Addition Rule To add integers with the same sign, add their absolute values. The sum is: Positive if both integers are positive Negative if both integers are negative 7 + 3 = 10 -7 + (-3) = -10

You are finding the difference even though it is an addition problem. Keep the sign of the bigger number 9 + (-3) = 6 = -4
