Book Choice Must be a book you’ve read this quarter
Must be at a high school reading level Can be a book that you are rereading Cannot be a book we’ve read together in class

Deciding on a medium Be realistic about your choice; if you want until the week before it might be hard to film a trailer Choose something that sounds fun to you, it will make the work easier Plan ahead, don’t wait until the last minute or you will be having to reread a whole book in one night to finish this project If your idea for a medium is not on my list, check with me beforehand

Some examples of mediums you can use
Graphic novel: If you are good at art or working on the computer, this may be the choice for you Twitter/Facebook feed: Choose a character and create their twitter feed for the course of the novel. Make sure that it looks neat Book Trailer: Recruit some friends and recreate the story on camera, make sure you stick to the premise of the novel Text Messaging: Create conversations between the characters, what would they say in the situations of the novel? How do they talk to each other? (example of Shakespeare texting at back of classroom)

Board Game: Create a board game that takes the class through the novel, will work especially well for adventure novels Gender Swap: Rewrite important parts of the novel with the genders of the characters reversed. Journal: Choose a character from the novel and create a journal for them. Channel their thoughts. Point of view: Rewrite important parts of the novel through the eyes of a minor character

Presentations DO NOT SPOIL THE BOOK FOR YOUR CLASSMATES!!!!!!! For your presentation you want to try and convince your audience that they want to read this book. For your overall project you will need to have all the spoilers and the ending, but when you present, DO NOT spoil it for your class. Make sure that you can answer any questions that the class may have, be ready to explain what you present in more detail. Involve the class in your presentation. When you are in the audience, be a good audience member. Be respectful and participate when your participation is needed.
