PRIORITIES FOR 2018 – 2023

2. PREAMBLE
Since 2013, all together, we have made a lot of efforts to energise Faith and Light throughout the world:

3. We tried to go back to our roots reflecting on our identity and mission, together with all communities:
Main asset of our movement are communities and their members;
It is through their energy, imagination, love of Faith and Light that we can extend our footprint in the world.

4. We organised a great event with 150 young people from almost all provinces:
Asking them to tell us what we can do to attract young people;
Acknowledging their presence and enthusiasm as vital for the future of FLI.

5. We worked extensively to adapt the constitution to our realities:
Making it more in line with what the communities and structures of accompaniment are living.
What is proposed is what we built all together in the last ten years.
We need to be flexible and faithful to the spirit of our roots
(no one-size-fits-all).

6. For the coming years, we would like to be ambitious for Faith and Light:
By giving our communities whatever they need to continue to spread the word;
By indicating a clear direction for our little boat;
By celebrating our jubilee year;
Looking back to look forward with confidence.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY
How to nourish who we are?
Encourage activities, including meetings of young people.

12. SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Accompany communities and leaders.

13. SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Provide formation for ALL members.

14. SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Promote retreats and other means of deepening the spirituality of Faith and Light for all members.

15. SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Implement the Code of Conduct in all Provinces.

Strengthen Circles of Proximity.

17. SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Make Faith and Light documents, especially the Charter, accessible to all members.

18. CLARIFYING A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
What is the goal?
Come up with a vision for Faith and Light in ten years.

Set clear action plans and timelines towards final goal.

Explore different fundraising strategies.

Reinforce, wherever possible, bonds with sister organizations:
L’Arche and O.C.H.

How? What is our method?
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary through international and local activities.

Focus on Ecumenism with attention on how to present ourselves within an ecumenical framework.

Develop new internal and external communication strategies.

Approach new entities or reinforce existing links we have with other entities: interacting with other groups, seeking visibility and finding ways for serving together.

Attract new members (families, especially with young children with disabilities, and young friends) while at the same time valuing senior members.

Explore ways to welcome families from different religions in our communities
