EL SUBJUNTIVO The subjunctive, although not used often in English, exists. It is a mood and is very often used in Spanish. At the root of every subjunctive sentence, there is always some aspect not known or not controllable (there is doubt).

Present Perfect Subjunctive (Haber + participle) Past Subjunctive Past Perfect Subjunctive (Haber + participle)

Subjunctive mood: there is a change in subject and some aspect is not known/controlled (WEIRDO). Indicative mood: there may or may not be a change in subject; indicates certainty, reports something (there is no doubt).
