30 credits as part of a 60-credit degree Foundational public health 9 semester credit hours Human health and wellness Overview of public health Health communications Public health focus areas 9-12 semester credit hours Choice: Generalist/specializations Health education, health administration, environmental health Health navigation-related professions Experiential 3 semester credit hours Community-based experience related to focus area Electives 6-9 semester credit hours For example… Disease-specific and/or population-specific Public health preparedness Etc.

Interdisciplinary approaches builds buy-in and support for the degree Select courses that are already approved for articulation Match courses that meet the needs of YOUR community Work backwards with 4 year partners What courses are they willing to give up to build the Associate’s degree Speak ONLY in terms of the whole Associate’s degree transferring not course by course transfer – serves a seamless process for students

Started offering Public Health 1 year Certificate of Achievement: Fall Cohort Model = full with waiting list Accept students 2x year (cohorts full) 92% matriculate to the Associate’s degree First cohort to graduate with the Associate’s degree will be this May (we are currently co-advising with UNO and CU) to matriculate to the bachelor’s

Full articulation of the Associate’s degree: Creighton University: Wellness & Healthy Lifestyles Management UNO: Public Health (in progress) Both bachelor’s degrees then articulate to the Master’s degree at CU and UNMC
