1 Obvious Patterns Acts 9:32-43

2 A Good Day vs. 34 “…Jesus Christ heals you; get up….”
The Apostle Visits “…Peter…came…to…Lydda.” “Peter was traveling through all those regions…” Acts 9:32 “Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for.” And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching….” Mark 1:38-39 “…casting out the demons. And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Mark 1:39-40

3 A Good Day vs. 34 “…Jesus Christ heals you; get up….”
The Apostle Proclaims “Aeneas, Jesus heals you;…” IMMEDIATELY

4 A Good Day vs. 34 “…Jesus Christ heals you; get up….”
The Apostle Proclaims “Aeneas, Jesus heals you;…” "That is how it was with the miraculous gift of healing: Find the most difficult case. Seek him out. Then heal him completely, instantly, beyond the shadow of doubt. There was no mass meeting, no hysteria, no healing of psychosomatic illness as though it were the real thing, no stage-managed effects, and no offering. Just the simple exercise of a rare and temporary, but awesome and convincing spiritual gift." John Phillips

5 A Bad Day vs. 37 “…she fell sick and died…”
A Saint is Prepared “…they washed her body…” Tabitha is a Hebrew baby name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Tabitha is: Beauty, grace. From the Aramaic word for Gazelle. The Greek – Dorcas.

6 A Bad Day vs. 37 “…she fell sick and died…”
An Apostle is Sought “…the disciples…sent two men…” “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.” Romans 12:9-13

7 A Bad Day vs. 37 “…she fell sick and died…”
The Mourning Begins “…the widows stood….weeping…” This bought to my mind of how we will be remembered? By our service to others, our service to our family or our service to oneself – with what will our family adorn our casket and the room in which it lies?

8 The Great Mixed Day vs. 40 “….she opened her eyes,…”
An Apostle Takes Control “But Peter sent them all out…” After the crowd had been put outside, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. Matthew 9:25 When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his bed. So he went in, closed the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the LORD. 2 Kings 4:32-33

9 The Great Mixed Day vs. 40 “….she opened her eyes,…”
An Apostle Gives “Peter…presented….” And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately …Mark 1:31 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said to her, Talitha cumi; …Mark 5:41 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; …Mark 8:23 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. Mark 9:27 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, …Luke 8:54

10 The Great Mixed Day vs. 40 “….she opened her eyes,…”
The Lord Moves “…many believed….” Vs 35 “…and they turned to the Lord.” Vs 42 “…and many believed in the Lord.”

11 The Great Mixed Day vs. 40 “….she opened her eyes,…”
The Lord Moves “…many believed….” By God's grace, we can help more people turn to the Lord! We can help more people believe in Jesus. And this is the most important thing that happened in these verses. It wasn’t the man being healed of paralysis, as wonderful as that was. And the most wonderful thing wasn’t Tabitha being raised from the dead. I’ve got to tell you that she was probably a little chapped about that. Who wants to come back from Heaven? -- Not me! Rick Crandall

12 The Great Mixed Day vs. 40 “….she opened her eyes,…”
The Lord Moves “…many believed….” “ Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord. “For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we aspire to please Him, whether we are here in this body or away from it.…” 2 Corinthians 5:6-9 BSB

13 Things to remember and do
If we are going to be like Jesus we have to be willing to go and know this when you get there – there will always be people in distress – distressed people are all around us and they need what Jesus has to offer. “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.” Romans 12:9-13 This was a great mixed day – A woman was raised from the dead – Great!!!! Only thing was she had to come back from heaven to this lowly existence on earth for it to happen!!!!!
