3. Physical characteristics V. Human characteristics
Physical characteristics-determined by nature- climate, landforms, plants, animals, soil
Human characteristics- defined by culture-such as language, clothing, architecture, government, transportation

4. Place
describes the features or landscapes that make an area unique

5. Human-Environment Interactions
How people and their environment affect each other

6. Movement
how and why people, ideas and things move

7. Tangible
REAL--able to be touched- food, clothing, products

8. Intangible
Not able to be touched or grasped- thoughts and ideas

9. Imports V. Exports Import--items coming into a country
Exports items leaving a country to sell in another country

10. Regions
areas of the world purposely divided by geographers so that comparisons can be made

11. Absolute Location v. Relative Location
a specific description of where a place lies
Relative Location –
a general description of where a place lies
