OUTSTANDING LEARNING Please see below a few examples of our outstanding learning this week. This week, Jai-Jai in Year 2 has been working independently to partition numbers using place value. Michael and Kymani in Year 3 have been doing some excellent writing on information texts this week. Year 4 and 5 have been exploring their dreams and ambitions through an arts based portraiture project. They have looked at the work of Grayson Perry & Alberto Giacometti. This week, they have been creating beautiful mono prints leading in to their final, collaborative piece. MARKET VISIT As part of their Super Body topic, Dragonfly Class went to visit Lewisham Market. They have been learning about fruits and vegetables and bought some to take back to class to try. In maths they have been learning about money and they used their knowledge of coins to pay for their shopping and work out their change. The stall holders were very helpful and we were even given free apples and satsumas for the class to enjoy! YEAR 2 TRIP On Tuesday, Year 2 visited Southwark Cathedral to learn about God's World. They toured the Cathedral, were read the story of creation and did some role play using props. Next, they were shown the beautiful stain glass windows in the Cathedral, and had the opportunity to create their own. After their time in the Cathedral, Year 2 stopped by the Golden Hind, an English Galleon, which was a wonderful link to their topic 'Down in the Deep Blue‘. They had a lovely day! AFTERNOON TEA To end this half term’s Power Hour sessions, class 5W hosted an afternoon tea for their friends and families. Everyone who attended had a lovely afternoon and even the adults got up to join in with the dancing. WORLD BOOK DAY The week beginning Monday 26th February, we will be taking part in lots of exciting reading activities as part of our World Book Week celebrations. The theme of the week will be ‘The Places You’ll Go: Adventures and Imagination.’ and we will be sharing with you all of the exciting events we have planned after half term. However, to give you enough time to get organised, we are pleased to inform you that on Thursday 1st March, we will be all dressing up as favourite book characters. We do not expect you to go out and buy costumes, but encourage you to be creative and send your child into school wearing something related to their favourite book.

After healing him, the Lord instructed the man not to tell others about what He had done for him. Yet, the man made a poor choice and disobeyed Jesus’ command. Like the ill man, God wants us to come to Him when we need help. Not only should we go to God, but we must also be obedient and prudent. We must always make good choices. Class of the Week.
