3 Black kite This is a medium-sized bird. They are opportunistic hunters and are more likely to scavenge. They spend a lot of time soaring in the sky, in search of food. Their angled wing and forked tail make them easy to identify. kite_sound.mp3

4 Crow These are very commonly seen across India. They usually feed on the ground and eat almost anything. Hence they are also called scavengers. crow_sound.mp3

5 Indian grey hornbill The Indian Grey Hornbill is mostly arboreal and is commonly sighted in pairs. They have grey feathers all over the body with a light grey or dull white belly. The horn is black or dark grey

6 Kingfisher Kingfisher: It has blue upperparts, orange underparts and a long bill. It feeds mainly on fish. They have short legs and strong feet, since they spend most of their time perched on a stalk, twig, or branch while keeping an eye out for a meal. Points to tell: It is a brightly coloured bird. They consume a wide range of prey as well as fish, usually caught by swooping down from a perch. They nest in cavities, usually tunnels dug in the ground. Custom animation: The picture first appears. 7 Little egret The egret is a heron with attractive white plumes on crest, back and chest. Its legs are black and has yellow and black bill.

8 Red whiskered bulbul The Red-Whiskered Bulbul gets its name from the red whisker patch located below its eye. This bird feeds on a variety of fruits, insects and flower buds. rw_bulbul.mp3

9 Rose ringed parakeet The Rose-ringed parakeet is a gregarious tropical parakeet species. They are popular as pets. These non-migrating species and have successfully adapted to living in urban areas. rose_ringed_parakeet.mp3

10 White cheeked bulbul These are small birds with a white patch on the cheek. It is found in scrub forest and gardenland. They are usually seen in pairs or small groups. It feeds on fruits and insects. wc_bulbul.mp3
