1 What is a Character? The people, creatures or animals in a story; involved in the plot in one way or another. Creates interest in the story.

2 PROTAGONIST The central character in a story, drama or dramatic poem. Usually the action revolves around this character, who is involved in the main conflict and who usually changes after the climax of the plot.

3 ANTAGONIST A person or a force in society or nature that opposes the protagonist, or central character in a story or drama. The reader is generally not meant to sympathize with them.

5 Major vs. Minor Minor characters are still important to the story, they can serve as catalyst to the plot or even comic relief at times.
