4. Your draft does not need to follow your outline exactly
Your draft does not need to follow your outline exactly. However, if you are struggling with creativity, fall back on whatever you wrote on your outline.
You can change it later. You are writing on paper – not in stone.
This piece (in rough draft form) must be at least five complete and detailed paragraphs.
Details are what make narratives interesting!

How long does it have to be?
As long as you meet the five detailed paragraphs requirement, you’ll be in business. If it turns out to be too long when you type it, you’ll just have to trim it down in revisions.
I don’t know where to start! What do I do?
Remember: writing is a process. You have to take it step by step. Make sure your sensory details chart is completed. Then, make sure you feel good about your outline. Next, just focus on your introductory paragraph – one sentence at a time.
