Owner of the land has a legal obligation to do drainage maintenance.
Water association, responsible for the maintenance on ditches that are commonly used (185);
The Estonian state is responsible for the maintenance on ditches and rivers (state ditches) whose catchment area is of over 10 km2 (5633,9 km).
So, there are a bit over 5,5 thousand km of the commonly used ditches on a govermental funding. This year for the land improvement maintenance means were granted around 0, 66 milj Eur, which makse something about quater from the actual need.
