What is point of view? The position of the narrator of a story
Who tells the story?

Types: 1st person – is an Active Participant in the story. He/She will use “I” a lot. 2nd person – used when talking to a person (giving instructions) 3rd person – told by a person who is not a main character in the story

Types of third person 3rd person omniscient – a speaker who is not part of the story and knows all or at least knows a lot. This kind of narrator can see into multiple people’s heads. 3rd person limited – This type of narrator is can be like a normal person who observes something happening. He or she can also show you what is inside one character’s head. This narrator can make inferences, but cannot tell you for sure what a person is thinking.

Effects of Point of View
Different information is shared. Different opinions are given. Some information may be left out. You may be able to learn about a character more.
