-Native American children were sent here to learn how to be “American.” -Forced to speak English and abandon their native dress and ways. -Was not until the Snyder Act of 1924 that Native Americans were allowed to vote.

6 Japanese-American Internment
On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which called for the exclusion and internment of all Japanese Americans from the West Coast--where the majority of Japanese Americans lived, outside of Hawaii. Why did the President decide to do this? What crimes had the Japanese-Americans committed?
