Brainstorm as many as you can….

“SOURCES OF FREEDOM” JIGSAW OBJECTIVES:
Identify the sources of the rights colonists in America had Explain why these rights were important to colonists

SOURCES OF FREEDOM: JIGSAW ACTIVITY
Step One: “EXPERT GROUP”- Your group will be assigned one “Source of American Rights” to be an expert on. Individually read over the description of the Source. *For clarification, or for further research, you may use your BYOD device Create a haiku (3 line poem, syllables) that summarizes the source and/or describes the rights that come from it. Share with group, and choose the best one. As a group, fill in the SUMMARY/ DESCRIPTION and the RIGHTS/ LIMITS ON GOVERNMENT/ FREEDOMS for your source in the chart. Each one in the group needs to be prepared to describe the source and the rights in the SHARE OUT GROUP.

Step Two: “SHARE OUT GROUP”: Each expert will explain the sources and rights to the SHARE OUT GROUP.
After each presentation, use one of the letters in FREEDOM to make a statement about the rights colonists had: F R E D O M
