What is the Leadership Identification & Development Committee?
This committee is responsible for the identification, development and positioning of qualified members from your local chapters and state chapter for leadership opportunities, insuring that the organization has a strong talented cadre of members interested in developing their leadership skills.
The committee is charged with assuring that members have an understanding of and access to, opportunities across the organization.
Steps to Success
Communicate with members about opportunities at local, state and national levels of the organization.
Assign committee members to local chapters to identify potential leaders.
Identify leadership training needs for members.
It is recommended that the committee develop a process to evaluate submissions through some type of personal interaction with candidates to better assess skill sets and interests (e.g. one-on-one contact, phone interview, face to face interviews with the committee, etc.)
Provide recommendations to Local Leadership Team to include Nominating Committee, State Nominating Committee, State Leadership Team and to National Leadership Team.
