To broaden the students understanding of the range of roles and jobs available in the working world by exploring the career pathway of the BA. To create a link between aspirational figures and students own lives To identify skills and qualities used in every job and to recognise their importance to achieving success To allow students to create links between skills/qualities and jobs Activity 1: A to Z jobs challenge Activity 2: Discussion with the BA about their Job/career and company. Activity 2 : Spot the difference worksheet in 3 parts with case studies. Activity 3: Top Dog worksheet looking aspirational figures

Welcome to our Business Ambassador. Please can you tell us about your job? Who do you work for and what do they do? How long have you worked there? Is this your first job? What’s the best thing about your job? Hardest thing? Any other questions from the class?

What do these words have in common?
Skills and qualities that employers look for…. But which is which?

A skill is something you do or learn.
A quality is something that you are. Now you have heard about our visitor’s job, which skills and qualities do you think they need for their job? Complete Spot the Difference worksheet. Skill and qualities are often confused so it would be good to help students to understand the difference (although there is some overlap).

Top Dog What does being successful mean? What can we learn from other successful people? Does our Business Ambassador have someone they admire? What other role models do the class admire?

And finally For the Class What would you tell someone at home about today? For our Business ambassador; What will you tell them back at work about today? Ask students to think of some examples of how they can put these key messages into action.
