Plenary There is some really excellent practice around the institution & the passion for improving A & F is clear to see Developing students assessment & feedback literacies a priority in order to help students to recognise what constitutes quality. Changing the culture at Kent about how we approach feedback. Move to making it a continued process. Timeliness is more than just the 3 week turnaround for the grade outcome Programme level approach seems prudent - working with students in partnership for deadlines etc. A sense of community is key to A & F, building trust and initiating change in both staff & students Communication with students needs to improve - this is why we do what we do in A & F

Plenary How is learning gain enhanced?
Biggest challenge for the future – an emerging blueprint that retro fits to how we teach better Team Based Learning challenging but once students engaged it benefited their performance. Technology enabled marking is quick, efficient, rich and timely for students in the sciences Getting students involved in the assessment process might make it more meaningful and engaging for them Progressive feedback comment stepping stones for students to focus upon in the next assessment Can we increase opportunities for students to reflect upon their own learning so they know where they are - promoting a growth mind-set?
