2 Dudley MBC Values and Behaviours Framework
Values are the behaviours particularly valued in an organisation, the principles of "the way things are done around here" or "the glue that bonds the organisation together", underpinning the culture. Essentially, core values are the organisation's beliefs: timeless, guiding principles that should be lived through the actions of all of its employees. Organisations decide for themselves the "way we do business", effectively, what values they hold as core and without compromise. Why are values important? Values underpin the culture of an organisation, so are critical to an organisation achieving its strategic goals. The culture of an organisation has such an impact that it can make or break the organisation's success. Organisations often differentiate themselves from others with the values that they hold and in the way they demonstrate them. Values can transform an organisation into one where people clamour at the doors to be let in. That is a vision many organisations would delight in. People are increasingly realising that "spirit' in the workplace is enticing, and will help organisations achieve their full potential through encouraging those with similar values to come to work each day.

11 What the partners say? ‘We worked as a partnership right from the start of the project, it was imperative that we had the input, knowledge and experience from Dudley Telecare Service to ensure that the clients felt safe and secure in their properties and their families were confident that support was available to them. We could not have done it without you, you have given the clients independence. It has been a great partnership’ Supported Living Manager BCHG - September 2017 ‘We are very excited to have Telecare involved at the start of this project to ensure we are able to support people to live in their community as independently as possible. Using a range of equipment we plan to tailor packages of support to individuals needs as they travel through their pathway. The flexibility of Telecare means that this can change and be reviewed regularly to ensure people are achieving the outcomes they want to’. Commissioning Officer Market Shaping – Dudley MBC September 2017 ‘Dudley Telecare service plays a vital role in promoting independent living throughout the Borough. Through partnership working with the Telecare Team, the local authority has been able to build a range of apartments for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. These apartments have widened the range of housing options that are available to people and deliver good outcomes. In addition to this, their personalised approach has helped us to support vulnerable individuals to maintain their tenancies and reduce their risk of harm to themselves and others’. Dudley MBC Strategy Manager - September 2017
