The hypothesis is another name for a prediction or inference. When you are writing the hypothesis you are trying to predict the answer to your question.
What do you think will happen, (even before you start your experiment)?
You should always give a reason for your prediction.

All hypotheses should be written in an “If…then…because” format. “If (I do this,) then (this will happen) because (what research says)”
The “if” section contains your independent variable,
Followed by your “then” section which contains your measurable outcome or dependent variable,
Followed by the reasons for your prediction derived from your research.
