Use the following information to create a Venn Diagram that compares Presidential Democracy and Parliamentary Democracy

3 In a parliamentary democracy, voters elect the legislature (called the parliament) and the legislature elects the Prime Minister (the Prime Minister is NOT elected by the voters). The Prime Minister is similar to a President. In a presidential democracy, voters elect the legislature (we call it Congress) AND voters elect the President.

4 Vocab! A legislature (or the legislative branch) is a group of people that is elected to make laws. In the United States we call ours CONGRESS. The United Kingdom calls theirs PARLIAMENT.

5 The President! (elected/chosen by the people). The Prime Minister! (elected/chosen by the legislature.
