1 Methanol Synthesis from CO2 and H2 Utilizing Bimetallic Nanoparticle Catalysts
John D. Gilbertson, Department of Chemistry, Western Washington University, Bellingham WA, 98225 CuO on ZnO ZnO Standard CuO Standard Preliminary CH3OH vs Time (min) curves for dendrimer Cu/ZnO (black) and Coprecip Cu/ZnO (red) shows that catalysts synthesized from the dendrimer templating method are much more active for CO2 hydrogenation than traditional catalysts made from a co-precipitation reaction. XRD patterns of the dendrimer templated Cu/ZnO catalysts show Cu (likely CuO) particles < 5 nm.
