Definitions A pyramid is a polyhedron consisting of a single base which is a polygon, and lateral faces which are triangles that meet at a single point called the vertex. The altitude (height) of the pyramid is the perpendicular distance from the vertex to the base. The slant height is the height of one of the lateral faces.
