3 September 2002 What .11 Needs To Do Provide the customer a means to manage the problem. In simple terms that they can understand Give equipment vendors a simple implementation Provide .15 with a clear path to a workable solution Chris Zegelin, Symbol Technologies

4 September 2002 The Beacon Element Simply indicates to the BSS when to keep quiet and for how long. .15 will own the definition and specification Becomes a .15 recommended practice that the vendors can implement if they want to accommodate this problem. .11 need only specify the beacon element number reserved for this purpose. 5 September 2002 The Motion To direct the group within .11 that is chartered to control the allocation of element ID’s to reserve a specific ID for ownership and specification by the .15 working group. Chris Zegelin, Symbol Technologies
