What Was It? Severe dust storms that destroyed the Mid Western states
Completely destroyed farms and land

Who did it Impact? Farmers Families in areas
Created food problems for the US as crops were destroyed

Why did it occur? Farmers over worked the soil
Trees and other plants that held the soil down were gone Drought Topsoil was just loose dirt so when wind storms started it picked up the dirt

How to fix it? US government sent out experts to teach new farming methods Rotate crops and keep fields empty Planted trees and plants to help hold the soil
