SKR Periodicities W. S. Kurth University of Iowa ISSI Team on Periodicities at Saturn 26-30 October 2015
3
Using an assumed fixed period, SKR drifts in longitude with time, AND, the rate of drift varies over time. => The period varies with time.
6
The variable SKR period is statistically identical to the Giampieri et al. [2006] period over like intervals, and suggests the period is variable, and not fixed.

Rotation Rates & Periods
SLS (Voyager) Slow SKR (typical) Fast SKR (typical) Rotation Rate (deg/day) 810.76 800 816 Period (Hr) 10.657 10.80 10.59 (Hr Min Sec) 10h 39m 24s 10h 48m 10h 35m

Something to try Use periods determined every 30 days with the Gurnett tracking filter (each hemisphere) Use as guide period to plot SKR phase over the 240-day period. Check for intervals of rapid variation in phase Provide set of guide periods vs time for use with other phenomena
