ACT Scores Equivalencies
Alternative Method #1 Process for accepting ACT and Michigan Merit Examination (MME) scores in lieu of the Professional Readiness Exam (PRE) MME Equivalencies Mathematics- 1116 Reading- 1108 Writing- 1129 ACT Scores Equivalencies Mathematics- 22 Reading- 22 English & Writing- 24 (only for tests taken prior to Sept. 2015) Using this alternative method, candidates would be considered to have passed the corresponding section of the PRE if their ACT or MME scores meet the threshold identified for an alternative measure. Thus some candidates would not need to take the PRE at all. Some would need to take only one section, some would need to take only two, and some will have to take all three.

Alternative Method #2 Professional Readiness Examination (PRE) Passing Score Alternatives The passing score for each Professional Readiness Exam (PRE) subtest is 220. If a candidate has met or exceeded the passing score on two of three ACT, MME, or PRE subtests, and he or she meets or exceeds the Alternative score on the third PRE subtest according to the table below, that candidate shall be considered to have passed the PRE as a whole. Contact the academic advisor or certification officer at your institution for more information about the PRE alternatives. Alternative score reflects statistically equated score.
