Fall 2018

2. OBJECTIVE
Students will use found organic objects to create 5 aesthetically pleasing compositions, each focused on one element of art and design. This may be achieved by using arrangement techniques, colors, and shapes.

3. ELEMENTS OF ART & DESIGN

4. LINE
An element of art defined by a point moving in space.

5. COLOR
An element of art made up of hue, value, and intensity.

6. SHAPE
An element of art that is two-dimensional, flat.

7. FORM
An element of art that is 3D and encloses volume.

8. SPACE
An element of art that adds depth to a work of art. Positive and Negative areas are defined.

9. TEXTURE
An element of art that refers to the way things feel or look as if they might feel if touched.

10. BALANCE
Combining elements to add a feeling of equilibrium.
