2. CAT 5 Part 2 is dedicated to information security
It defines in few words the control of cryptographic security which is one of the essential security issues of the Participating States
It describes in long notes the decontrols for all the civilian legitimate uses of cryptography.
The category has been re-architectured in 2015 to discriminate cryptographic and non-cryptographic (physical) security
The EG is continuing its rewriting work for better readability and to better adapt the controls to the security requirements and the reality of the market.
