2 How to Access the Databases
Go to the Alphabetical List of Databases: In the list, click on any of the titles listed below; they all link to the same page: ▪Wilson OMNIFILE Full-Text Art Full-Text ▪ Humanities Full-Text Business File Full-Text ▪ Reader’s Guide Full-Text Education Full-Text ▪ Social Sciences Full-Text General Science Full-Text

3 Choose the database you want to search
Choose the database you want to search. OmniFile is the largest and covers many different topics. The others focus on one area. Click Database Descriptions to learn more.

4 Choose Basic or Advanced Search
Advanced Search is the Default Search (the type of search that the database automatically opens to). Advanced Search lets you enter in multiple search terms, connected by AND, OR, or NOT. Basic Search is simple keyword searching, with less control and fewer terms. Choose where you want to search (title, abstract, subject, etc.)

5 Enter your search terms and limit to full-text, peer-reviewed, and/or by date, if desired. Click Start.

6 Click these links to search these related or narrower topics
Results List Type in additional terms here to search within these results, or do a new search Results are automatically sorted into Peer-Reviewed (Scholarly), PDF, etc. Click these links to search these related or narrower topics Click the title to see the record, which may contain a summary of the article.

10 “Get Article” Results Window
This article was not found in any other database. You would need to use the Online Catalog to see if we carry this journal (Insights on Law & Society) in print, and if we have the correct issue (Jan 1, 2007)

11 If the full-text is available, click the link, and then you can print, save, or e-mail the article.

12 The Browse Tab lets you search by subject, or choose from many other options

13 Browse by Subject Select One or More Subjects And click

14 Thesaurus Tab: type in your terms and find out how this database classifies your topic
In this database, articles about the death penalty are classified under Capital Punishment, or possibly under Executions. Click the link to see the relevant results.

15 Search History Tab lets you keep track of, save or combine previous searches.
Select the searches you want to combine with “and” and click Run Search.

16 Print, , Save Tab: choose one or more citations, the full article, or export to your bibliographic software such as EndNote.
