Injury – Caught In, On or Between Moving Objects
AMT used a fueling stand to inspect an aircraft cargo compartment. While walking up the stairs, the upper platform collapsed and crushed his foot. The stand was not latched and locked in the upright position.
Best Safety Practices
Always use proper equipment, i.e., approved ladder or maintenance stand
Ensure equipment is latched and locked into position
Read all labels / warnings
If proper equipment is not available, notify crew chief and/or member of management.
