Recommendation 8 Non-FFA member countries requested that FFA investigate the provision of access to FFA tools on the IMS for non-FFA member countries.

TDW8 - Response On-going development of tools in RIMF & National IMS, customised according to FFA Member country needs Availability of funds to FFA are only targeted towards the development and delivery of these tools to FFA Members, and Information Security Management System (ISMS) does not allow for access to FFA Systems by unauthorised users

IMS Overview Provide system and tools for specific national information management needs Purpose Integrate existing fisheries data E.g. TUFMAN data, VMS, VAP, etc Provide additional modules to capture other fisheries related data sets Provide multi agency access for intra-jurisdictional matters

National IMS Updates Based on national focus and priorities
3 new National IMS portals were developed since the last TDW (TDW8). They are: Kiribati (locally hosted) Samoa (cloud hosted) Tuvalu (cloud hosted) Integration of Vessel Day Scheme (VDS) and WCPFC Record of Fishing Vessels (RFV) into some national IMS Work done on 12 national IMS portals

RIMS1 Inaugural Regional IMS workshop was co-facilitated by FFA & SPC on 28th & 30th March, 2015 There were: 33 participants 2 observers (WCPFC & WWF) 2 co-facilitators (SPC) All 17 FFA members represented

RIMS1 Goal Overall goals of RIMS:
Identify national data and information priorities with relation to IMS To raise the level of awareness amongst members

RIMS1 Outcome RIMS1 outcomes:
(i) Adopt RIMS workshop as an annual event (ii) Use the RIMS workshop to develop annual national and regional IMS workplans and monitor progress (iii) Seek avenues to develop national capacity with respect to information management (iv) Carry out an assessment of national and regional IMS developments with the view to bringing members up to a common level of implementation

Licensing Module Update

Licensing Update Phase 1 - Release on June 1, 2015 through national IMS portals 3 months of testing We are trialling with 5 member countries Strong engagement expected during this period with FFA and SPC

Licensing Update Available to wider membership from September, 2015
Licencing module will feed TUFMAN (2) with the required licence data Phase 2 – involve an industry portal to allow online submission of license applications

License conditions The Licence conditions management
Keeps track of all licence conditions and any changes over time Associate licence conditions to different enterprise/companies and/or to vessel gear types Has Built in notifications to inform users when licence conditions are going to expire if they have an End date

License Offers The License Offers feature
Captures and Manage data and information associated with any licence offers made to fishing companies including details of the offer, documents, and any responses received from the fishing companies

Record details of licence applications. Record details of the vessel to be licensed.

OPM Purpose & Features OPM’s primary purpose is to
Manage observer placements and associated data E.g. Observer information, travel, finances, equipment, etc Core features or functions are: Observer details Trip details Asset (equipment) management Reporting
